Recipe for the milk bath here.
If you have not seen my milk bath maternity pictures, you can see them here. We wanted to recreate my maternity photos, except with Crew in my arms instead of in my stomach(obviously). We also wanted to use the flowers for her nursery…which I did not end up doing, but I still love these sweet memories. Our photographer, Tonya Dixon, was the one who suggested them. Crew did great for the dry pics, but she would NOT sleep the entire time the camera was out during the milk bath pictures! She looks crazy eyed and that is because she was not enjoying herself at all. I was taking antibiotics for mastitis which made her a grumpy child, with much more active bowels and she pooped on me. At least the mustard color of her poop matched my floral color scheme.
I love looking back and seeing posed sweet photographs sometimes, because my entire phone is FILLED with the every day pictures…grainy, dark room, silly moments. And every so often I like seeing a professional picture in my albums. Something I would change if I could do this again, is I would use real flowers. We chose to use fake flowers so when she was born we would have the exact same color scheme. I wish we would have looked for some that were in season while I was pregnant and once I had Crew. I love them none the less, just a side note. Fake flowers do not float either. We had to keep dropping them on the surface and then Tonya would rush and snap a few pics, then repeat the whole process again. She should get an award for moving so fast in that bathroom without getting any injuries.
